EduCon started today at the Science Leadership Academy in Philadelphia. It always starts with attendees visiting the school while in session on the Friday of the weekend.
I took the train into the city today and walked from Suburban Station to the school. The highlight of the day is a student led tour of the school including classroom visits. It is a regular school day, with hundreds of teachers descending on the classrooms to see how SLA does what they do.
Everyone is very welcoming. The students and teachers will answer any question you have. You can tell that this is not just a school, it is a community.
So I took some photos and am going to post them here. I will be posting each day about my experience and the conversations that I will be attending.
Our student tour guide was excellent. Here are some photos of the Engineering Lab:
And here are some Algebra classes:
It was a great day at SLA. I am looking forward to tomorrow!
